PASTORAL TRANSITIONS

When you think about it, every pastor is an Interim Pastor- meaning no one knows how long he will fill that role. Transitioning from one pastor to another is not simply a new “hire.” The process demands clear communication for a smooth handoff of the baton. It is often full of emotion and tension.

Conflict Resolution

How do you navigate through rough waters in controversial situations? When emotions are running high, change is ruffling feathers, or sacred cows are removed from altars- you may need a fresh perspective from an outsider with no agenda.

MODERATING ORDINATION COUNCILS

Since many churches do not often ordain someone in their congregation, they are unsure of the procedures. I can walk with you through the process.

ARBITRATION SITUATIONS

A stalemate in decision-making brings paralysis. An arbitrator has no vested interests, listens to the arguments, analyses the situation and gives recommendations.

ASSESSING CHURCH HEALTH

Just as a person’s body can be limited by disease, so can a Church body. There are ways to assess your Church’s health and prescribe a course of action to refocus on building the Kingdom of God.

CUSTOMIZED RESEARCH

Is there insight you need on a particular topic which could shed light on decisions which will impact your church? I can refine your question(s) and gather the data you need!

LEADERSHIP TRAINING EVENTS

If you are not continually training and making disciples of your leaders, you are failing to equip the church to carry out Jesus’ Great Commandments (Mark 12:28-34), Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) and His Great Challenge (Acts 1:7-8)! Consider some of these day-long training events for your leadership teams. And if none of these relate to your context, I’ll create a teaching or training event uniquely for you…or find someone who is more qualified!

Local/Global Engagement Strategy walks a church’s outreach and missions committees through an assessment of current effectiveness. With the advent of technology- what do we need to re-think? How can we be most effective in sharing the gospel with neighbors across the street and across the globe?

The Anatomy of Grief will help leaders minister to those who have suffered the loss. Grief can be paralyzing when a significant other dies, debilitating health changes, radial changes in one’s job, even disconcerting events.

From the Doorway to Discipleship examines the full scope of assimilation and an intentional process for creating fully devoted disciples who make disciples. How does a new attender at your church become engaged in ministry? What happens when someone comes to faith? How do we guide them in spiritual formation?

Matters Related to Church Discipline can quickly derail the unity of a church. Who, what, when, where, why and how are the questions which must be addressed. The cardinal mistake churches make is that they have no procedural process in place until they are in the middle of a mess. Trying to figure out what to do in the midst of raw emotion is a formula for disaster.

The Divine Design of Your Church identifies the unique fingerprint your church will have in your community. If there is no clarity and unity of mission, vision, core values & philosophy, the church will flounder and everyone will simply do what is right in their own eyes. Without clarity on these four pillars, there cannot be assessment of your effectiveness in kingdom building ventures.

Meaningful Church Membership is sure to rattle some traditions! Yes, membership does have its privileges, but for too many churches that is little more than casting a vote in a congregational meeting. Change your thinking to make membership more of a partnership with an emphasis on creating a covenantal community.

First Impressions - What do first-time visitors to your Church really see when they visit your Church? It may be a cliché, but it remains true: “You never get a second chance to make a first impression.” I will play that role and give you a thorough report of what I experience when I visit your church incognito.

Strengthening Board Leadership is a workshop to help your Church Board, Executive Leadership Team or Elders/Deacons clarify the expectations placed on them by virtue of their positions. Nearly every flashpoint with leadership should be handled before it escalates into conflict.

Pastoral Transitions are one of the most crucial times in the history of a church. You should be intentional about creating an environment for change so that handing off the baton of leadership is seamless and there are no divisive surprises.
